UFP stands for ultra-processed foods - think artificial flavourings, refined sugars, additives and preservatives – predominantly anything man made and chemical which you wouldn’t find in your cupboards at home. It has become almost impossible to avoid UPFs in the high street and supermarkets as our lives become ever more reliant on speed, convenience, cost and of course what pleases our taste buds. However, as these ingredients are not natural, our bodies can’t digest them and are linked to a whole range of diseases and cancers.

“How come you don’t take cash?”

When we opened back up after lockdown in 2020, we made the decision to stop taking cash payments and only accept card or contactless. Of course, this was a difficult decision to make – we knew that becoming cashless would be a hard transition for lots of our regular customers, but for us, the benefits outweighed the disadvantages. We do still get asked why we don’t take cash and if we’ll ever start taking it again, so we have decided to explain why we’ve made the decision to switch to cashless, and stay that way for now.
